Position: Head Research and Development
Employer: International Commercial Vehicle Industry
Reposting line: Chief Operation Officer (COO)
Location: Wuhan
Role of this position:
The head of R&D creates and develops products in accordance with the market demands. The main responsibility is bringing new products and process to an industrial scale. The head of R&D will provide leadership, direction and coordination to the department.
Responsibility:
- Knowledge and understanding of customer needs in the chinese commercial vehicle business
- Manage and development of qualified engineering staff to ensure technology, quality and cost leadership of the company’s business
- Localization and further development of the modular system
- Manage budgets, development plans, resources and schedules and meet the development milestones and schedules
- Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company R&D process
- Developing and implementing of cost reduction activities
- Develop the company’s product road map
- Working together with purchasing, quality, product management, production, suppliers and customers
- Ensure the product homologation and testing procedures
Requirements:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, master degree preferred and more than 8 years of experience in the field
- Five or more years’ experience leading a team in the area of product development
- Strong knowledge about chinese Truck and Trailer market and regulations
- Experience in using state of the art product development tools
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, attention to details
- Strong project management skills and ability to get things done
- Advanced computer skills, particular with standard CAD systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to present ideas in a business friendly and user-friendly language
- High level of written and spoken English, German is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment |
