Responsibilities
We seek an Oracle DBA with proven skills to work as part of our leveraged team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to function in both a physical and logical capacity, supporting vendors, developers, as well as end users.
· Production support of databases that support the enterprise.
· Production on-call rotation is required.
· Ongoing and proactive performance tuning of existing and new database applications.
· Recommend DBMS configuration changes to optimize server performance, implement cache, buffer pool, and configurable memory structure options for DBMS.
· Working collaboratively with agile development teams to tune the Oracle database as a part of the entire application stack.
· Contribute substantially to the system architecture, and take ownership of the design and development of new Oracle database environments.
· Establish coding standards for PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and logical and physical schema design, and enforce them within the development staff
· Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, and implementation of methodologies to ensure high quality software.
· Work as member of a DBA team responsible for maintaining database stability, and availability of in-house development projects as well as providing physical support for vendor maintained applications.
· Provide support to development teams
· Assist IT management with administrative policies and procedures related to technical problem resolution and priority management that relates to system support and maintenance.
· Recommend to IT management changes to database design to improve process throughput and ensure performance as identified above
Required Skills
· Minimum 5 years of demonstrated proficiency in administering Oracle Database Systems in a “High Availability” environment. Including Oracle RAC
· Demonstrated proficiency in the installation and administration of Oracle on Linux as well as Windows.
· Strong Oracle performance tuning experience.
· 3 Years experience in database tuning and development support.
· 3 Years experience with ASM, and RMAN.
· 3 Years experience with Linux/UNIX scripting.
· 3 Years experience in hardware sizing, and capacity planning.
· Working knowledge of Partitioning, Materialized Views, Bitmap Indexes, and Parallel Execution
Excellent written and oral communications skills. · Demonstrated time managements and multi-tasking ability.
Desired Skills
· PL/SQL experience
· Cognos and/or reporting tools experience a plus.
· Experience with Oracle RAC 11g is preferred.
· Experience with ETL, data warehousing, and BI applications.
· Experience with database replication to design and implement Oracle replication using trigger-based or event methodology using such tools as export, import, database links, Advanced Replication, Data Guard, or other third party tools.
· Experience in data modeling and design.
· Database security skills to design controls and monitoring capabilities for user access.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree required
