There is specific need to pursue ‘Specialist’ skill level and technical capability at minimum. A directional objective (extending beyond McD China service requirements) is to establish a skills and role anchor within the APJ geography that can be augmented, expanded with additional co-located staff that can support Dell strategy to expand services delivery capability and support for the APJ geography. A candidate that can also perform at a solutions architect and engineering type role skill level will be strategically ideal.

Daily Job Responsibilities:

 

The daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, performing tasks required in support of the implemented backup solution technologies; processing media, performing maintenance, providing consultative support and issue diagnosis and responding to hardware, software and storage media fault events.

 

Dominant responsibilities for this position include:

Candidate will provide Datacenter Migration (DCM) support, including site and existing client preparation, activities during the migration and follow-through after the move to verify backups and assist the sys administrator with verification

Monitor and managing backup solution data management processes

Work with vendors as required resolving hardware issues within media libraries/storage devices

Work within Dell OPAS tool in compliance with Incident, Change, and Request management processes.

Use Dell OPAS tool to monitor queues for transition and DCM related requests and verification that they have been successfully fulfilled by the move date

Answer incoming client phone calls and contact clients via telephone to provide services support

Work directly with Data Backup services team to further learn/extend data backup knowledge and responsibilities

Periodic written work effort and project progress status reporting
